Loco, Carriage and Wagon Transport and Storage
We have 2 trays available specifically for a wide range of scales for the railway enthusiast for N, OO, HO, OO9 and similar gauges.
They fit into our full range of cases. You can see pictures below showing a wide range of locos, wagons and carriages in the trays and cases.
The segmented pick&pluck design is and unique to the KR Multicase. It enables you to easily arrange your collection into sets of carriages, wagons etc. Simply break the webs joining the sections to remove sufficient to suit your needs. The segmented format guides you in creating compartments and also enable you to easily combine various sizes of rolling stock in each tray. If you need additional packing you can use the pulled out sections to suit.
A standard size KR Multicase holds 3 N-Gauge trays and can carry for up to 42 coaches/locos, or over 100 wagons.
A standard size KR Multicase holds 2 OO, HO, OO9-Gauge trays and can carry up to 10 coaches, 20 locos or even greater numbers of wagons.
The small size aluminium case is ideal carry and storing a special set of a loco with a rake of 4 coaches, though the trays are fully adaptable for alternatives too.
Each tray consists of a pick&pluck foam tray supported within a strong card support. This provides excellent strength and is suitable for carrying a tray full of locomotives. Each trays also has 2 handles to help with the loading and unloading of the trays into and out of the case.
The foam is our standard foam which is soft and cushioning for your valuable collection of locomotives and rolling stock. We use this for 2 reasons, the first is that it is not abrasive to painted models, and secondly the density is such that it supports the contents, yet will deform around any protrusions thus protecting the models. See the testing section for a demonstration! Our trays and bases are glued together in preference to using double sided tape as this provides a permanent join with no assembly required.
The pictures show various locos, carriages and wagons safely stored in the trays,. The trays are available individually, in sets or in the KR Multicase. You can choose from our card case or the aluminium case.
With the KR Multicase you can happily combine trays of carriages, wagons and even locos with complete peace of mind.
The KR Multicase is the only fully stackable storage system on the market for miniatures. Consider the convenience of no more varied size cardboard boxes around the house and layout, with all your rolling stock and locos safely (and economically!) stored.
The cardboard and aluminium lend themselves to easy identification as you can stick a label on or write directly on the surface. In fact the aluminium range all have a self adhesive clear label holder included!
The stackability coupled with the ease of labeling means that you can identify the contents easily - no more searching through endless boxes! You can colour them, stencil them, write on them, even stick a picture of your particular loco on them!
They provide superb storage for paints and modelling accessories too.

The original KRMulticase is made from solid KLC heavy duty dense card, the same as is used for commercial archiving of documents. It is not made from cheaper and inferior corrugated card as this just is not up to the job. It is very durable and incredibly protective. The tray inserts are made from foam and medium density corrugated card.
Having trialed many foam grades we have selected one which provides the softest and most forgiving surface for models, yet is tough enough to provide the full support needed for your miniatures.
On the original card KR Multicase the wrap around lid provides all round protection and the injection moulded plastic handle forms the snaplock for the KR Multicase to provide a securely closed case. This ensures the contents are safe from spilling out and can be transported with ease.
